Gerrit Johannes de Jongh was born on July 4, 1845 in Willemstad, Noord-Brabant, Nederland. He was the son of Teunis Gerardus de Jongh and Cornelia Johanna Maris[1]

Gerrit Johannes married Henrietta Martina Bax (1847 - 1914) on August 25, 1869 in Bergen op Zoom, Noord-Brabant.

Their daughter was Anne Henriëtte Elisabeth Maria (de Jongh) Philips (1878 - 1970).

Gerrit Johannes died on January 31, 1917 in Den Haag, Zuid-Holland aged 71. He is buried in 's-Gravenhage, Zuid-Holland, Nederland.[2]
